Connie Parsons School of Dance was established in 1996 when it assumed management of Judy Fagan School of Dancing, continuing a legacy of dance which spans over 40 years in St. John's, Newfoundland. We are excited to be entering our 16th year with the start of the 2011-2012 Dance Season.
During the Summer of 2008 we expanded our school, adding a second studio to our current location with a 10 ft. ceiling, sprung floor, and large viewing window for parents!
During the Summer of 2009 we rennovated again! The Dance Spectrum ~ onsite Dance and Activewear Store has now moved to the other side of the building into a bigger and brighter space. Be sure to drop by our even bigger selection of the latest and greatest in dance attire, before heading back to class this season!
During the summer of 2010 our teachers were busy training and advancing their skills in dance in order to offer you the best. Miss Leslie was in New York City attending Broadway Dance Centre's Teacher Workshop in conjunction with The Pulse. The highlight of this trip was taking class with Mia Micheals from "So You Think You Can Dance"!! Next, Miss Leslie travelled to Europe to attend the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing summer school in Chichester England where she furthered her training in Modern and Tap.
In February 2011, a group of teachers and students from CPSOD travelled to Toronto to attend the PULSE on tour. This amazing dance workshop included classes taought by some of the greatest Hip Hop, Jazz, and Modern choreographers in show business today. It was an fabulous opportunity for our students and a great refresher for our teachers, midway through the year!
Our 2011-2012 Dance Season promises to be the most exciting one yet! We have MORE classes, MORE programs, and MORE teachers involved than ever before. We are ready to offer our students the best training possible in the most creative and fun way we can! Be sure to view the new schedule posted on line with classes in Studio A and Studio B running simutaniously.
During the summer of 2009, Miss Connie, Miss Leslie, and Miss Ashley attended the Broadway Dance Center Teacher's Course in New York City, held in conjunction with The PULSE on tour. We worked with world-renowned choreographers from the hit TV show "So You Think You Can Dance" including Shane Sparks, Wade Robson and Chris Judd. We also took classes from Tony award winning broadway choreoraphers and stars. What an amazing wealth of information we have brought back to our studets here in Newfoundland!
CPSOD is thrilled to Welcome Back a team of great teachers to our studio for the 2011-2012 Season.
